Chris Bradley's Traditional Jazz Band is a collection of well-seasoned local musicians with rich musical backgrounds. We have been performing at the Pleasanton Hotel twice a month for over two years, as well as other venues in the Bay Area. We play mixture of Traditional Jazz tunes and music of the pre-fifties era in a bouncy rhythmic style that is ideal for both listening and dancing.

Robert Boring - Trombone

Robert played 6 years in the Original Straw Hat Pizza Parlor in San Leandro in the Sixties and plays regularly with Chris Bradley, Tice Valley , and several Dance Bands.

Chris Bradley - Cornet – Vocals - Leader

Chris was taught by bay area Dixieland cornet player and bandleader Fred Shockley. He played lead trumpet for the South Bay “Leratones” dance band for ten years. and played with a variety of East Bay Swing bands as well as Community Theatre Group orchestras. He started this Traditional Jazz group several years ago and have since been performing twice monthly at the Pleasanton Hotel and now the Sunol Jazz Cafe.

Steve Doherty - Bass

Steve joined CB's TJB in April 2005. Steve also enjoys playing bass with the Golden Gate Park Band (22 years and counting). When he's not busy playing or teaching music, he's a docent at the Steinhart Aquarium.

Bob Steffen – Banjo

Bob has been a long time Bay Area musician playing with Traditional Jazz Bands. He has played Saxophone with some local swing bands. He also plays in the San Ramon Symphonic Band.

Rich Owens - Piano

Well know and sought after in the Traditional Jazz world, Rich is a regular with several Bay Area groups including “Natural Gas” and the “Jambalaya Swing Band”.

K en Pimentel

Ken has played with several Bay Area traditional jazz groups and well as swing bands and has been a fine addition to the band.
