May, 2010 Monthly eReminder

Please forward this to all of your friends in hopes that they may be interested in Traditional jazz

This is the 48th issue of the South Bay Traditional Jazz Society's eReminder

This is a combined announcement for the Top Of The Hill Jazz Band who plays Saturday at Campbell 's Boogie on the Bayou and the Sunday session featuring Bob Schultz's Frisco jazz Band.

This Saturday is “ Boogie on the Bayou ” in downtown Campbell . The “Top Of The Hill” Jazz Band plays Saturday at 2:00 pm on the Gumbo Community Stage (near the Sonoma Chicken Coop parking lot). Some other members of South Bay are playing in the New Orleans Plaza from 12:15 to 1:00 pm. This is a fun and free event so come out and support our House Band and other musicians.

This next Sunday is our monthly session. The featured band will be Bob Schulz's Frisco Jazz Band. The Frisco Jazz Band is a mainstay of the Trad, New Orleans , and Dixieland Jazz scene in the Bay Area. The Frisco Jazz Band is in great demand for festivals, here and abroad as well as cruses. This is one of the most popular bands around. We look forward to having them every year.

See you there.

A Call to Arms !!

Our society is growing!! Attendance is up, the jammers and house band are going great guns. To keep growing WE NEED PEOPLE. If you love this music it is time to get involved with the society. Contact any board member to get started helping. The recent passing of Ed Connor and the retirement of two of our board members makes the need for more people that much greater.

A great way to help the Society is to sit in on a Board meeting.  No doubt something of interest will arise where you will want to jump in and add some value.

The SBTJS continues to face challenges. If you want to help, grab a Board member and tell them you want to get involved . Volunteers are always welcome; you don't need to sign up. Just jump in and help where you see a gap. Can you take photos or help with the sound or raffle? There are still some open spots on the Board.
